Housekeeping

Room Attendant
Reports to the Floor Supervisor, duties and responsibilities are as follows:
  • Offer professional, friendly and engaging service to the guests
  • Focus on guest needs, remain calm and courteous at all times
  • Clean all the assigned guestrooms including: dusting, soiled linen / waste removal from rooms, making beds, vacuuming, window cleaning, bathroom cleaning, replenishing supplies used in the guest room
  • Ensure that guest corridors are always clean
  • Ensure that periodical cleaning schedules are followed
  • Maintain hygiene standards by using proper cleaning products.
  • Keep the housekeeping trolley and Pantry clean, free of litter and well stocked for the next day
  • Sign in and out master keys daily.
  • Maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Update and record all cleaned rooms
  • Return and properly tag all lost and found articles in the Housekeeping Office
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures and service standards
  • Report necessary maintenance repairs to be done
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • Report to the floor supervisor any loss or damage to the guest rooms or guest areas
  • Follow the safety and security procedures set
  • Ensure that a proper handover is given to the floor supervisor at the end of his / her shift
  • Must be able to work in any of the shifts in the department
  • Other duties as assigned by the floor supervisor / Housekeeping Manager

Housekeeping Supervisor
Reports to the Housekeeping Manager. Duties and Responsibilities are as follows:
  • To ensure the highest level of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness is maintained in all Guest areas
  • Ensures that the room attendants are well groomed.
  • Prepare the duty roaster / duty chart for the room attendants
  • Allocate the duties to the room attendants for the day
  • Supervising the daily cleaning of assigned guest areas including guest rooms (morning / turning service), corridor and public areas to the highest standards.
  • Ensure that the back of the house areas including all the staff areas are clean
  • Ensure that all the cleaning equipments / Extra beds / Mattress are maintained by the room attendants
  • Report any maintenance jobs to be done and get the same rectified with the Engineering department
  • In case any room is taken up for renovation / maintenance work ensure that the room is properly packed and the supplies removed.
  • Report any loss / damage / theft to the guest rooms to the Housekeeping manager
  • Follow the safety and security procedures set
  • Ensure that all records are maintained and updated from time to time
  • Ensure that proper inventories are taken as per schedule of the items in the department including the cleaning equipments and extra bedding
  • Must be willing to work in any of the shifts in the department
  • Other duties that may be given to him / her by the Housekeeping Managers

A Laundry Man / Presser
Reports to the Housekeeping Manager. Duties and responsibilities are as follows:
  • He is responsible for the washing and pressing of the linen / uniforms used in the Hotel according to the company standards
  • He has to ensure that care is taken while operating all the laundry equipments.
  • Ensure that utmost care is taken while washing / ironing guest clothes
  • Ensure that proper sorting and tagging of uniforms / guest laundry is done
  • In case any items of guest clothing received for washing / ironing is torn or damaged, it is to be informed to the housekeeping desk and shown to the guest before being processed
  • Ensure that the laundry chemicals are used as per the standards set and there is no wastage of water / chemicals / electricity
  • Ensure that all the machines are switched off at the end of the shift / day
  • Follow the safety and security procedures set
  • Must be willing to work in any of the shifts in the department
  • Other duties that may be given to him / her by the Housekeeping Manager
